After the completion of the study of Biotechnology in 2004 (Dipl.-Ing. (FH)) I achieved the degree Master of Science (M. Sc.) in Biotechnology under Prof. Dr.-Ing. Milan K. Popovićat the Beuth University of Applied Sciences Berlin in 2006. In 2008 I obtained my Ph.D. degree at the Technische Universität Berlin, Germany under Prof. Dr. Ulf Stahl. In 2010 I had the chance to work as a research associate at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, Cambridge, USA. After several years as deputy head of the Research Institute for Microbiology at the Versuchs- und Lehranstalt für Brauerei in Berlin (VLB) e.V. I became Professor at the Beuth University of Applied Sciences, Berlin in March 2013. My research topics comprise up- and downstream processing in food biotechnology and white biotechnology.
